About ICAR-AIEEA-PG
- • The ICAR is the Apex Body for coordinating, guiding, and managing research and education in agriculture.
- • The ICAR-AU System of India has 74 Agricultural Universities comprising 63 State Agricultural, Veterinary, Horticultural and Fisheries Universities (SAUs), 4 ICAR-DUs, viz. IARI, IVRI, NDRI and CIFE,3 Central Agricultural Universities (CAU, Imphal, Dr. RPCAU, Pusa and RLBCAU, Jhansi), 4 Central Universities (CU) having Faculty of Agriculture (BHU, AMU, Viswa Bharati and Nagaland University).
- • Master's degrees are awarded by Agricultural Universities in 81 Sub-Subjects under 20 Major Subject-Groups. Candidates should select one Major Subject Group for appearing in the Entrance Examination, based on compatibility with their own subject at graduation (UG) level.
- • The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has entrusted the responsibility of conducting All India Competitive Examinations for admission to Bachelor (UG), Masters (PG) & Doctoral (Ph.D.) Courses in Agricultural Universities (AUs) and award of scholarships & fellowships, to the NTA from 2019 onwards.
The award of ICAR-PG Scholarship:
- • ICAR shall award 600 ICAR-PG Scholarships (Rs. 12,640-per month + Rs.6,000/- (Annual contingent grant)) to meritorious students through AIEEA-PG Exam every year.
National Talent Scholarship (PG):
- • ICAR shall award National Talent Scholarship (NTS-PG) (Rs.5,000-per month) to meritorious students through AIEEA-PG Exam every year.
Scheme & Pattern of ICAR-AIEEA-PG Examination
The Test will consist of Multiple-Choice Questions:

- For Non-PwD Candidates: 120 Minutes
- For PwD Candidates: 160 Minutes
Note: - Compensatory time for PwD Candidates of 20 minutes per hour of examination.
Important Note:
- • Each question carries 04 (Four) marks
- • Negative marking and for each incorrect response, One (1) mark will be deducted (Section – B)
- • Un-answered/un-attempted question will be given Zero (0) mark
- • In case more than one option is correct in a question, marks will be awarded to only those who marked any of the correct answers
- • If none of the options is found correct or a Question is found to be wrong then the Question will be dropped. The reason could be due to human error or technical error. Full marks may be awarded to those who have attempted such question
Eligibility & Age Limit Criteria for ICAR-AIEEA-PG
- • Candidate should note that for admission to Master's degree programmes through entrance examination conducted by NTA, only the candidates having passed graduation with four/six (12+4/10+6 B.Sc. Ag./B.Tech.) / Five years (B.V.Sc. & AH) / 5½ years (B.V.Sc. & AH) degree programme will be eligible.
- • The Candidate must have passed bachelor's degree examination securing Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of the following:

- • In other cases, where grade points are not awarded and only marks areawarded, the candidate must have secured at least 60% marks for General, OBC, UPS and EWS categories whereas for SC/ST/ Third Gender /PwD categories the requirement is 50% marks. (Please note that equivalence between OGPA and % marks will not be acceptable). There will be no rounding-off of the OGPA/percentage of marks of qualifying examination while deciding the basic eligibility of any candidate for admission e.g. if a candidate obtained 49.99% marks in his/her qualifying examination, then it will not be rounded-off to 50%.
- • Candidates who appeared or appearing (Result Awaited) in qualifying degree is eligible to apply.
- • Candidates should meet minimum eligibility criteria of Participating Institutions/Universities
- • The applicant for a particular Subject must satisfy the eligibility criteria as specified in this Information Bulletin (or its amendments/corrections from time to time).
Reservations
Indian nationals belonging to certain categories (OBC-NCL, Gen-EWS, SC, ST, PwD/PwBD) are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government of India/State Governments.
